American Legion names Consumers Energy's Karn-Weadock in Bay County as 'Large Employer of the Year'

HAMPTON TWP. — The

is recognizing Consumers Energy's

as the "Large Employer of the Year."

The award recognizes organizations for their efforts to recruit, hire and train veterans.

The criteria for the award requires at least 10 percent of the workforce be veterans. At Karn-Weadock, 23 percent of its 370 employees are veterans, according to Consumers Energy officials.

Representatives from the American Legion will present the award in front of employees tomorrow morning at the complex, 2742 N. Weadock Highway, Hampton Township.
