Consumers Energy and OM&C 2010 Negotiations Update #4

Negotiation activities continue for the OM&C Working Agreement, which expires June 1, 2010.  The parties are targeting completion of negotiations by April 1, as was done in 2005.
All five Option Teams, including 1) Training/skilling, 2) Overtime, 3) Meals/premiums, 4) Shifts/schedules and 5) Paid absences presented options for consideration to First Table the week of 2/22.  Each presentation lasted about 1 hour.
Labor Relations and the MSUWC Executive Council would like to thank Options Team members from both parties for their time and participation in the process.  In total, Options Teams spent more than 4,000 employee-hours over the last six weeks, and developed hundreds of options, some of which will be adopted in the new Working Agreement.
First Table will continue to discuss benefits, wages and other items, as well as options presented by Options Teams in the coming weeks.

Negotiations updates will be distributed twice per month or as other major milestones are met.
