Inter-Union Gas Conference

Dear Gas Local leader,

The annual Inter-Union Gas Conference will be hosted this year by USW, and will be held October 3 through 6 at Grand Sierra Resort & Casino, 2500 East 2nd Street, Reno, Nevada 89595, reservations telephone - 800-648-5080 or 775-789-2129.  The following room rates, single/double, are available October 1 through 7:  guestrooms - $89.00; luxury guestrooms - $109.00.  Reservations can be made by phone or on the following dedicated web site:  interuniongasconference.com.

Cutoff date is September 1, 2011

Registration fee is $125.00 per delegate, made payable to:  USW District 4.  Please forward your registration fee and your delegate sheet to Rosanna Farley as soon as possible.

UWUA Caucus will be Monday morning at 9:00 am.

COUNCIL MEETING NOTICE - SEPTEMBER 9-10, 2011

July 18, 2011

Dear Delegates:

The next regular meeting of the MSUWC will be held on Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Traverse City Holiday Inn West Bay, 615 E. Front Street.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the rate of $115.00, single or double occupancy.  Please call 800-888-8020 prior to August 22, 2011, to make your room reservations, and be sure to mention the Council to receive the proper room rates, or you can make your room reservations online by clicking here.

For the above educational sessions and lunch, the Council needs to know the number attending prior to August 20.  Also, each local needs to contact the Council office prior to August 20 to provide an approximate number of people attending Friday night's reception.

Saturday's meeting will begin at 8:30 AM and will include the following nominations:

The UWUA will be hosting its 29th Constitutional Convention June 22-25, 2011 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Much business will be discussed and some fun will be had.

Some notes and deadlines:

• The deadline for filing Delegate notice forms to the National Union is June 7, 2011.
• If you wish to have one or more MSUWC officers represent you at the Convention, please contact our office as soon as possible for details.
• The cutoff for hotel reservations is May 26, 2011.  Their toll-free number is 1-866-227-5944, or you can book online using this link.
• Resolutions and Constitutional changes must be submitted to the National by June 12, 2011.
• The dinner/dance will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011.  Note that this is a change from past Conventions.

The next regular meeting of the MSUWC will be held on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Lansing Lexington Hotel, 925 S. Creyts Road.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the rate of $96.00, single or double occupancy.  Please call 517-323-7100 prior to April 15, 2011, to make your room reservations, and be sure to mention the Council to receive the proper room rates.

Saturday's meeting will begin at 8:30 AM.

Local Presidents and Secretary-Treasurers, please plan to attend the Financial Seminar on Friday, 10 AM - 3 PM which will include financial information for local unions and election law procedures.  RSVP the Council by April 21, 2011.
