COUNCIL MEETING NOTICE - SEPTEMBER 7-8, 2012

Dear Delegates:

The next regular meeting of the MSUWC will be held on Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Traverse City Holiday Inn West Bay, 615 E. Front Street.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the rate of $117.00, single or double occupancy.  Please call 800-888-8020 prior to August 17, 2012, to make your room reservations, and be sure to mention the Council to receive the proper room rates, or you can make your room reservations online by clicking on this link.

Friday's Schedule:

For the above educational sessions and lunch, the Council neesd to know the number attending prior to August 20.  Also, each Local needs to contact the Council office prior to August 20 to provide an approximate number of people attending Friday night's reception.

Saturday's meeting will begin at 8:30 AM and will include the following nominations:

Creyts Road.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the rate of $97.00, single or double occupancy.  Please call 517-323-7100 prior to April 11, 2012, to make your room reservations, and be sure to mention the Council to receive the proper room rates.

Saturday's meeting will begin at 8:30 AM.

Dear Delegates:

Mack McKenzie has resigned his position of Executive Vice President effective December 31, 2011, and has withdrawn his name as candidate for the position of President in the upcoing election. He will be on sick leave and unavailable through the remainder of the year, therefore, please refer any calls to the Council office.

Per Article V, Section 7 of the Michigan State Utility Workers Council Constitution, ". . . it shall not be necessary to fill such a vacancy when less than sixty (60) days remain . . ." until the next regularly scheduled election of Officers.

Therefore, at the January 13-14, 2012 Reguarly Scheduled Meeting of the MSUWC, there will be a special nomination and election for Executive Vice President following the regularly scheduled elections.
